Meet Taouea Vitousek, LCSW
Mahalo for stopping by!
I’m Taouea Vitousek, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon and I offer individual counseling/ telehealth therapy to adults state-wide. I earned my Master’s in Social Work in 2013 from Portland State University. I have a variety of experience working with people from many walks of life in my time working inpatient Psychiatric, Domestic violence and sexual abuse work, and most recently in the Primary Care setting as a Behavioral Health Consultant.
At this time I am working with adults and I specialize in women’s mental health issues. I enjoy working with people of all different backgrounds, and I hope you feel like you can be yourself in our sessions.
I will share part of what makes me a compassionate therapist is my lived experience. I was born on small 3rd world island in the Pacific, and grew up in Hawai’i from age 5. I’m my own blend of Kiribati, Hawaiian, American culture. I grew up in a blended family system that was loving, and also faced some challenges with generational trauma, mental health, and alcohol use.
My strengths include resiliency and kindness. This is your therapy journey and you are the captain of your ship! Many of us carry our experiences for as long as we can and that is hard! Know you are not alone. Please be kind to yourself and make space for your experiences and self-care! I hold space for the stillness and quiet that we avoid often with ourselves. I will meet you where you are and listen to what feels comfortable for you in the work we do together. Please do reach out to me if you feel we are a good fit!
A quote that has been on mind lately: “Your struggles do not define you!”- Victor Frankl
