Meet Taouea Vitousek, LCSW
Mahalo for stopping by!
I’m Taouea Vitousek, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon and I offer individual counseling/ telehealth services to adults state-wide. I earned my Master’s in Social Work in 2013 from Portland State University. I have a variety of experience working with people from many walks of life in my time working inpatient Psychiatric, Domestic violence shelter work, and most recently in the Primary Care setting as a Behavioral Health Consultant.
At this time I am working with adults and I specialize in women’s mental health issues. I enjoy working with people of different backgrounds, and I hope you feel like you can be yourself in our sessions.
I will share part of what makes me a compassionate therapist is my lived experience. I was born on small 3rd world island in the Pacific, and grew up in Hawai’i from age 5. I feel the islands(Hawai’i or Fanning) calling to me, now even louder to connect culturally with my roots. I’m my own blend of Kiribati, Hawaiian, American culture. I grew up in a blended family system that was loving, and also faced some challenges with generational trauma, mental health, and alcohol. My strengths include resiliency, hopefulness, and creating a safe place for people to tap into their own curiosity, gentleness, and self-compassion. If this sounds like a good place to start please reach out to me.
A quote that has been on mind lately: “Your struggles do not define you!”- Victor Frankl
